Wow - welcome to my brand new page.  I am so excited that you found me and that you are wanting to better your life through health and fitness. I suppose I should share a little about me and why I do what I do. 


For me it all started back when I was a scrawny 15-year-old kid. I wanted to improve my strength and speed for football. So, I started working out at 5 am in the morning at the school gym. I had NO idea what I was doing. I often just guessed at what should be done. It wasn’t until I meet a friend (Jamie Kohl -some of you in Ankeny might know him) that taught me the inns and outs of building strength. I also learned very two things during my time with him. First, not everything is going to go perfect. We busted our butts during those sessions. I still wasn’t the strongest, fastest, or most explosive. The crazy thing was, that really didn’t matter.  I was getting better – a heck of a lot better! Secondly, I learned my passion. All through college and after I realized exercise, healthy decisions, those were the key to controlling my anxiety (another story, another time) and ONE key to a happy life.


So just out of college I decided to focus on helping others. I left my job at Target (yes I had a degree but again maybe another time. This post could be YEARS long) and joined the YMCA. It was there I learned how to teach and train people. Fast forward to 10 years now and I’ve trained:

*Military men and women (132nd Air National Guard Des Moines)

*College and High School Athletes

*Top Business Men and Women

*Over 1,000+ men and women striving for better health, bodies, etc..


My philosophy is simple… Everyone can play the game you just have to be willing to overcome physical and emotional boundaries. Yes I teach 8-week boot camps and most people come to me wanting to lose weight but more importantly they want something bigger. For everyone it is different but creates a common bond with the people in class.


I always strive to get better – become a better coach, dad, husband, trainer you name it! It is my hope that if I can help people see their potential through burpees and pushups – I have done my job.


So take a look around as I keep growing this site and my own business. Maybe I can help you someday, if anything I hope you find the value in living a healthier lifestyle.
